The 24th of may, 2005 I was called by a truck driver from Frode Laursen A/S. He had
seen the article that was brought in the swedish truckingmagazine, TRAILER 5/2005 in this spring, and
asked if I wanted to show my models for a reception that was arranged in the division of the company in Jyderup on Sealand.
I was very pleased, and we arranged the final details for the weekend.
The company Frode Laursen A/S is a large hauling company, founded in 1948. The head office is placed in Vitten
near Aarhus in Jutland, the company also have 6 other divisions around in Denmark.
The company are occupied with distribution both nationally and internationally.
The reception was held at the division of Frode Laursen in Jyderup, which accomodate their 50.000 squaremeters large storagehotel.
At the reception it was possible to get a tour around the huge storagehotel and also:
I brought all my assembled models, ie.
Volvo FH16 6x2/4 520 with 3 akslet Goldhofer step frame trailer
Volvo FH12 6x2/4 500 Globetrotter XL, Sweet Candy
Mercedes Benz 1840 Strawtransporter
At the reception there were also a lot of other models, a.o. 1:24 scale models, 1:14 - 1:16 remote controlled models. The following clubs were represented.
DTMC was represented by Niels Jørn Hansen, Flemming Pedersen and Henrik Andersen. They had brought a lot of their 1:24
scale models, extremily nice models, with a lot of incredible details.
Below I have put some pictures of some of the models they brought along.
DTMC does unfortunately not have a website, but at this site, made by another scale builder,
Søren D. Sørensen you will find some information about the club.
Henrik Andersen is also the owner of H.A. Models, a company who are specialiced in producing accessories
for scalemodels in 1:24. There arent any website, but send an email to H.A.
Models to get a catalogue, cause if you built 1:24 models, H.A. Models, sure have some accesories or conversion
kits that could be interesting for you.
Henrik Anders is also an employee at LEGO, so I had some interesting conversations with him, regarding my hobby.
Modeltruck Sealand were also present, and had brought a lot of scale models.
Unfortunately I havent taken that many pictures of their models, but below you can see one of the models.
You can read more about the club, and see more pictures at their website, here.
Copenhagen Modeltruck Club, was also represented at the reception, they had brought a lot of models in scale 1:14 and 1:16 remote controlled trucks, everything from refrigerated trucks, lowloaders, tanks, and forklifts.
You can read more about the club, and see more pictures at their website, here.
RC Truck Team Sealand had also brought a lot of remote controlled trucks and vehicles in scale 1:14 and 1:16.
Among them, american rigs, lowloaders, tanks, a wheel loaders and many more. I was lucky to get the change to try
one of those models, a Knight Hauler, all cromium plated, with 3 gears, and sound (see pictures and video below.)
It was very funny, and maybe I should think about buing one myself...

TransportSektorens uddannelsesfond (The transportsector educationfoundation)
were also present in Jyderup with their mobile trucksimulator.
The simulator makes it possible to test dangerous situations which can arise in the traffic, but
here you can try it without any risk of human lifes.
You can read more about it here.
At the reception there were also two old Bedford veteran trucks, fully renovated. Normally they are used for driving graduation students around, and tasks like that.
At the reception it was possible to test different trucks. A.o. a tankertrailer, made as a citytrailer, i.e. with at turnable rear axle, they are specially made for small gasstations in cities, where there is no room for normal trailers. Because of the turnable axle it is possible to get into small places. The trailer was hauled by a Scania 124L 6x2/4.
It was also possible to test the brand new 'RoadTrains' of 25.25 meters!
They are not approved for driving in Denmark, yet, but hopefully they will be soon.
The roadtrains are made in two version, one with a normal tractor, trailer, and a small trailer behind. Or the
other version with a normel truck, a dolly and a large trailer behind. Both combination are 25.25 meters long. The
combination makes it possible to transport the load from 3 normal trucks on 2 'RoadTrains'.
Now I had the chance to try to drive a 25.25 meters road train, I would not miss the change...
All in all, it has been a great weekend, including LEGO, modeltrucks, and driving around with citytrailers and 25.25 meters roadtrains.
There was no reason for this, just because we could...Frode Laursen A/S ready for Australia!
